Christopher Barnes served as the director of emergency services at Region Ten Community Services Board in Charlottesville, Va.
He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in history, and he has a M.S. in mental health counseling from Longwood University.
Christopher worked at Region Ten for more than 25 years and has worked in emergency services for more than eight years. He is a licensed professional counselor and actively supervises counseling residents.
Barnes led the reestablishment of the Piedmont Chapter of the Virginia Counselors Association and has served as president and treasurer for that organization. He served the VCA at a statewide level in several capacities over the last decade.
His service on the VCA Foundation’s board began in 2025.
