Manny Bartolotta

Manny Bartolotta is an actively retired former high school counselor from Fairfax County Public Schools.

Following his retirement from FCPS in 2005, he worked as a part-time counselor with the Northern Virginia Community College Extended Learning Institute, now NOVA Online, until 2016.

Manny has also taught technology skills to senior citizens as a volunteer.

In addition, as a native Italian, he created and taught an Italian for Beginners class for seniors at Hollin Hall Senior Center in Alexandria, Va.

Bartolotta has been an active member of VCA for more than 35 years, serving as president of the Northern Virginia Counselors Association, the Virginia School Counselors Association and
three separate terms for the Virginia Career Development Association.

He has worked to increase awareness of the importance of technology in the work of counselors, in part by founding and developing the original websites for VCA and VSCA. He was also involved in the rebuilding of the VCDA website.

When joining the VCA Foundation, he created and managed its website until 2020. In 2012, he established VCA school counselor organization website for the VASC. As technology chair for VCA, he established the domain name for VCA, VSCA, VCDA, VASC and the VCA Foundation.

Bartolotta also has served on the VCA Foundation Board as vice president from 2009-2019, president from 2019-2022, and a one-year term as past president.

He has continued to assist as a volunteer for special assignments and on special committees. In February 2024, he was bestowed the honor of VCA Foundation emeritus director, by the foundation’s board of directors.
