
Pete Warren spent many years involved in both the Virginia Counselors Association and Virginia Counselors Association Foundation.
He served as president of VCA and guided the organization as its first executive director. He established the VCA office in Lynchburg, Va., and hired its first paid employee, the director of membership services.
As the VCA’s executive director he provided leadership, and inspired and mentored many colleagues to become actively involved with the group, and its chapters and divisions.
Warren was also a counselor educator, dean and chaplain at Lynchburg College in Virginia for many years. He served in the military, was a minister, a city council member and was former mayor of Lynchburg. His many honors include: VCAF John Cook Award, ACA Humanitarian and Caring Person Award, National Conference of Christians and Jews Humanitarian Award, National Leadership Award from Chi Sigma Iota, and VCA Career Service Award.
