
Adele Walker-Blue is a licensed professional counselor who earned degrees from Huguendot Academy, which is now Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot; Mary Baldwin College, and The College of William and Mary, where she received her master of education in counseling.
She has worked in corporate, healthcare and community mental settings.
Walker-Blue has spent much of her clinical career honing her expertise in motivational interviewing and other humanistic counseling approaches. She has worked with many populations, including adolescents with substance abuse issues and their families, individuals with medical or mental health diagnoses, and youth under social services care.
She served as manager in behavioral health care management at Anthem where she managed a team of clinicians who assist clients in connecting to treatment resources in their communities, and provided coaching on lifestyle changes to assist in improving both mental health and medical conditions.
Her professional contributions to the Virginia Counselors Association include a term as president, two terms as treasurer, challenge fund chair, and advocacy co-chair. She has also served on the convention committee, on the leadership team of the Virginia Clinical Counselors Alliance, for two terms as the VCA Foundation treasurer and for five years as president.
